Review of "End of the Line" from The Fix. Aliette de Bodard says, "A very effective story with a strong sense of period and a setting well rendered, Messinger handles the slow buildup of tension masterfully, making for a creepy and suspenseful tale..."
Very nice.
There's also a mention of EOTL at The SF Bookswap, as part of a list of recently-published stories by women.

What with these glowing reviews, I wonder if Baen's might reconsider "Sikeston."

And on what would you base this supposition?
I can't say that I am supposing anything. I have some hope, forlorn though it may be, that the kindly editors will reconsider "Sikeston." Those editors strike me as inconsistent. They welcomed "EOTL" with open arms, but bounced "Sikeston." It does not figure.

Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of editors?
